Mae Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub Gogledd Cymru yn helpu i amddiffyn rhyw 670,000 o bobl mewn ardal sy’n 2,400 milltir sgwâr, yn ogystal â channoedd o filoedd o dwristiaid ac ymwelwyr sy’n dod i’r ardal bob blwyddyn.

Mae oddeutu 317,051 o eiddo domestig a thros 24,484 o eiddo annomestig yn y Gogledd sydd dan ofal y Gwasanaeth.

Mae Pencadlys y Gwasanaeth wedi ei leoli ym Mharc Busnes Llanelwy yn ogystal â’r Ganolfan Gyfathrebiadau ar y Cyd lle mae’r Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub a Heddlu Gogledd Cymru yn rhannu ystafell reoli.

Mae 44 o orsafoedd tân ar hyd a lled y Gogledd – tair gorsaf lawn amser yn Wrecsam, Glannau Dyfrdwy a’r Rhyl, 5 gorsaf criw dydd yn Llandudno, Bae Colwyn, Bangor, Caernarfon a Chaergybi a 36 gorsaf ran amser lle mae’r criwiau’n ymateb i alwadau yn ôl y galw.

Mae’r Gwasanaeth yn cyflogi yn agos at 1,000 o staff mewn rolau gweithredol a chefnogol.

Mae’r criwiau’n ymateb i oddeutu 3,200 o danau bob blwyddyn ar hyd a lled y Gogledd, tua 500 o wrthdrawiadau ar y ffyrdd a 500 o ddigwyddiadau brys eraill. Rydym hefyd yn cael ein galw i tua 3,600 o alwadau ffug o wahanol fathau.

Nod Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub Gogledd Cymru yw darparu gwasanaeth brys effeithlon, proffesiynol ac ymroddedig i bobl y Gogledd, yn ogystal â darparu adnoddau hanfodol ac arbenigol er mwyn delio gyda digwyddiadau a senarios brys o wahanol fathau yn llwyddiannus.

Un o weithgareddau allweddol y Gwasanaeth yw Diogelwch Tân Cymunedol. Yn y Gogledd mae aelodau’r Gwasanaeth yn gyfrifol am gydlynu nifer o fentrau a phrosiectau gyda’r nod o addysgu’r cyhoedd am beryglon tân. Mae’r rhain yn cynnwys archwiliadau diogelwch tân yn y cartref, mentrau i ddargyfeirio pobl ifanc megis canghennau Cymdeithas y Diffoddwyr Tân Ifanc, Gwobr Dug Caeredin, bathodyn Brownis mewn diogelwch tân a phrosiect y Ffenics, yn ogystal â chyflwyno rhaglen hyfforddi addysgol gynhwysfawr i blant ysgol ar hyd a lled y Gogledd.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service helps to protect an estimated population of 678,461 people over an area of 2,400 square miles as well as hundreds of thousands of tourists and visitors who come to North Wales every year.

There are around 317,051 domestic properties and 24,484 non-domestic properties in North Wales that fall under the Service’s protection.

The Service’s headquarters is located on the St Asaph Business Park as well as the Joint Communications Centre where both the Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police share a control room.

There are 44 fire stations across North Wales – three wholetime stations in Wrexham, Deeside and Rhyl, 5 day crewed in Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Bangor, Caernarfon and Holyhead and 36 retained station where crews respond to calls as and when required.

The Service employs almost 1,000 staff in operational and support roles.

Annually around 3,200 fires, 500 road traffic collisions and 500 other emergency incidents are attended by fire crews across North Wales. Around 3,600 false alarms of various kinds are also attended.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service aims to provide an efficient, professional and dedicated emergency service for the people of North Wales, as well as to provide the necessary resources and specialist equipment to successfully deal with numerous different emergency incidents or scenarios.

One of the key activities of the Service is Community Fire Safety. In North Wales numerous initiatives and projects are coordinated by members of the Service that aim to educate the public about the danger of fire. These include home fire safety checks, youth diversionary initiatives such as Young Firefighters branches, Duke of Edinburgh award, Brownies badge in fire safety and the Phoenix project, as well as embarking on a comprehensive educational training programme aimed at school pupils across North Wales.
